Origin of nutmeg





Nutmeg has a Latin name Myristica Fragrans Houtt of Familia Myristicaceae. Nutmeg tree has flowers at each end of the branch during the flowering season and these flowers clustered later become yellowish green fruit. There are three main parts nutmeg. The first is the flesh with a whitish thick structure, feels bitter and contains a lot of sap. The inside flesh is mace, namely the thin membrane that surrounds the reddish nutmeg and the inside is nutmeg.Meat nutmeg usually processed into sweets or boiled with sugar syrup fragrant nutmeg and slightly sour taste. Mace, or some people call it mace, widely used as a spice in cooking or taken the juice for raw materials cosmetics and perfumes.Nutmeg brown color and is the most widely used part. Typically used for cooking spices, perfumes, cosmetics, essential oils, preservatives and so forth.In addition to a fragrant aroma, and usefulness as a seasoning kitchen, turns nutmeg save a lot of content that is beneficial to health. Among the benefits that aid digestion, insomnia, reduce phlegm cough, ease muscle spasms and others.
